March 13th, 2010 at 7:25 amWHO IS “GROOVE” CHAMBERS
So, i’ve asked around the Industry & it seams that everyone, who is anyone, seams to say that they know “Groove” Chambers! Why is this? Who is this Olympic bred track star From Kansas City MO, that tore his quad killing his Olympic hopes & dreams forcing him to look for another path? Who is the masked man that sits in a Solar Powered Recording studio in Atlanta Ga. quietly whittling away at Hit records?
Some folks know him as just simply James from the studio. He seams so normal to be such a Big force in the music world! Others like Atlanta, Mayor Kasim Reed (who coincidentally did the 1st deal for him when he produced & wrote 10 of 12 songs on the Platinum debut album for Nappy Roots “Watermelon, Chicken & Grits” including the Hit Single “AW NAW”) will tell you that “Groove is a humble guy but an extreme talent & a force to be reckoned with”.
How very interesting to me that “Groove” Chambers is one of the only people in the Rap game that I have done a story on, that I haven’t heard one bad thing about. On the Contrary he is known as the guy who for the past decade has become friends with & helped numerous Artist find a sound unique to themselves. If he hasn’t worked on their record on the production or writing side, he has given advice, studio time, or simply leant an ear & a refuge for those artists that need to feel alive in the tough world that comes along with being in the music industry .
I have asked several Grammy nominated Producers about him & they all say one thing “He is a Star maker”. “Groove” Chambers has the unusual ability to help other artist find their way & not let the fact that he is known Underground as one of the dopiest upcoming MCPs in the Rap world, get in the way of him helping others.
After wrapping up a tour with DMX, Bone Thugs & Tech 9, “Groove” Chamber’s saw the lack of Female MCPs in the game & told his his Partner Mali Hunter to look out for talent. She then went out & Linked up with Lil Mama’s manager ALI Saami & he brought her down to Atlanta where “Groove” created Lip Gloss Boosting Lil Mama to stardom.
I can go on & on with these stories about Mr. Chambers, but What I am most excited about is his Voice & Delivery on the Mic. There is also the Fact that for his new single “In The Bag” He produced the beat & Mixed & Mastered it as well. He is the one man band when it comes to the Rap game. I will be looking for more exciting & unique songs from “Groove” Chambers in the very near future.
So with that all said Congratulations Treeleaf artist “Groove” Chambers Everybody has there time & it looks like yours is now! You really do have the Game in the bag!!!! -
