Marketing Manager Steve-O Shares Daily Routine with Billboard

Steven “Steve-O” Brown asks this while scrolling through potential cover options for Big K.R.I.T.’s upcoming mixtape, “4 Eva N A Day,” slated to drop in January. The covers differ slightly but the three guys on the email — Steve-O (K.R.I.T.’s marketing manager), K.R.I.T., and his manager and president of hip-hop label Cinematic Music Group, Jonny Shipes — want to make sure to pick the perfect one before pushing it out themselves.

Steve-O handles the rapper’s marketing; specifically, digital. He’s in charge of the roll-out of K.R.I.T.’s projects and connects for premieres with different outlets, like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and more. Steve-O’s also co-founder of the Smoker’s Club tour (alongside Shipes) and co-founder of marketing and management company GFCnewyork (alongside “Saint” Louis). Steve-O handles marketing, management and A&R development for artists like Mickey Factz, Smoke DZA, Jesse Boykins III, Mara Hruby, MeLo-X, FKi, and Nakim.

Jesee Boykins III x The Madbury Club Interview

Check Out Jesse Boykins III’s Interview for The Madbury Club. It came out pretty dope.

“When Jesse Boykins III wants to learn something, he makes a habit of it. The 26 year old R&B singer packed his bags and left Miami for the Big Apple, and hasn’t looked back since. Releasing three independent albums, touring across the globe, and being recognized throughout the industry as one of the brightest young talents in music, Jesse Boykins isn’t phased by his success. His undying love for music has cast him a student in a classroom full of teachers, eager to learn from the histories of his predecessors and write his own narrative.”

America NU Magazine Issue #1

Words From Ronin

Check out our second magazine out of Dash Publications, America Nu Magazine. As Creative Director, I wanted to push my refined aesthetic even further to come up with something that feels classic! Between the two magazines (this and Karin + Raoul), working with Art Director David Barnett, Editor-In-Chief Raquel Horn (America Nu) and Editor-In-Chief Hassan Kinley (Karin + Raoul) was indispensable to my development as an artist. In the past 6 months my eyes have been opened to totally new art forms, aesthetics, and mediums (I plan on tackling sculpture) and I’m excited for what’s to come next. Thank you Dame, McKenzie, Raquel, Hassan, and Cynthia for allowing me to work alongside you to create these pieces of work. Check out America Nu and Karin + Raoul when you have a sec and provide your feedback.

BTW, The Black Apple is featured in this issue of America Nu, don’t miss out on that story.
