Launching of the New Music Seminar, a three day showcase of artists both brand new and re-vamped, at NYC’s Webster Hall. Founded by Tommy Boy Records CEO and chairman, Tom Silverman, the seminar began in 1984 and featured then little known artist Madonna and has catapulted the careers of others since then. The seminar continues today and tomorrow, with tomorrow’s closing event announcing the winner of the “Artist on the Verge” competition. Tonight’s event is the “Artist on the Verge” finals, with live performances by newcomers Comic Book Heroes, Hotspur and Yonas.
